Zheleznyakov Sergei Vyacheslavovich was born on 10 April 1997, is a Russian citizen and a resident of Kaliningrad. He has secondary vocational education, works as an IT specialist, is raising a young child, and practices Islam. In 2024, he was convicted under Part 2 of Article 159.5 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Insurance fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy’), Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 159.5 (‘Attempted insurance fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy’), and Part 1 of Article 159.1 (‘Credit fraud’) and sentenced to a fine of 50,000 rubles. On 11 April 2025, he was convicted under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation’) and Part 2 of Article 205.2 (‘Public calls for terrorism and its justification using the Internet’) and sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment, with the first four years to be served in prison and the remainder in a high-security penal colony. He has been deprived of liberty since 31 May 2023.
