A military court sentenced Volgograd resident Dmitriy Zhuravlyov to 7 years in a general regime penal colony for collaborating with Ukrainian intelligence services. According to the prosecution, in the spring of 2023, he called a Ukrainian organization controlled by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR). There, he was advised to use a messenger app, where he promised to carry out instructions. The instruction arrived only a year later: to write an online comment justifying terrorism. Zhuravlyov wrote the post and was soon arrested. He was charged with articles of the Criminal Code on confidential collaboration with foreigners and on justifying terrorism on the internet.
