Crimean resident Larysa Haidai has lost almost 15 kilograms in remand custody

Larysa Haidai, 62, who is being held at Simferopol Remand Prison No. 1, has lost almost 15 kilograms, her hair has gone completely grey, and she appears exhausted. The Crimean Human Rights Group reported this, citing her family. Her relatives fear that continued detention could seriously affect her health.

Larysa Haidai disappeared in March 2024. In August 2025, she was found in remand custody. She was held incommunicado for almost two years, and it was only in March 2026 that the authorities announced that she had been charged with treason.
