Olena Maksymenko is a Ukrainian citizen and a resident of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia Region. She has a Group III disability. After the occupation of the city, she acquired Russian citizenship.
The occupation-run Zaporizhzhia Regional Court sentenced her to 13 years' imprisonment under the article concerning high treason.
According to the prosecution, from December 2023 to June 2025, she transferred 24,220 roubles (approximately 13,000 hryvnias) to the bank account of Ukrainian servicemen. She also 'called for providing financial assistance to Ukrainian servicemen and posted calls to destroy Russian servicemen' in a pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel.
