Andrey Vasilenko is a native of the Rostov oblast. Since October 2023, he had lived with his girlfriend in Voronezh and worked as a line operator in a food production facility. According to the court, Vasilenko held a negative attitude toward the "SMO" and committed treason by communicating with Ukrainian representatives on Telegram, photographing a railway relay cabinet at their direction, and preparing to set fire to a locomotive. The court also qualified these actions as attempted sabotage, and the instructions received from the interlocutor were deemed training in sabotage. Vasilenko denies guilt, claiming he needed money and planned to commit arson for criminals profiting from insurance payments for destroyed property.
