This list contains the names of those who were recognised by the Memorial Human Rights Centre or the project ‘Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial’ as having been subjected to unlawful politically motivated criminal prosecution, but who have not been deprived of their liberty.

We do not attempt to compile a complete and exhaustive list of such persons, as the number is very large and there is not enough information available.
This page contains only a limited number of names of those whose persecution is particularly egregious in its lawlessness, those who have been recognised by us as political prisoners but have subsequently been released despite continued prosecution, or those who are being prosecuted in the same cases as people we have recognised as political prisoners.
